What to read, what to read?
On the top of my reading list right now is "Taming the Tiger Within" by the famed Buddhist Monk and spriritual teacher, Tich Nhat Hahn. It's a compilation of meditations on how to deal with difficult emotions such as anger, that can crop up from just about anything. It really does have a calming effect, I recommend reading it in silence. The book tries to teach you how to express your anger without perpetuating it, which in effect just leads to more suffering and anger. It may take a while to practice this, but it's definitely a quick read that I found to be worthwhile. If you are facing any kind of difficult emotions, be it stress at work, an unhappy relationship, or general discontent, try this book!
I have a couple of other books in my que right now, and will post them shortly. Tich Nhat Hahn is great!
